About FYCAS

Our Story

Friends of the York County Animal Shelter (FYCAS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the lifesaving work of the York County Animal Shelter in York, South Carolina. Through fundraising, community partnerships, and volunteer engagement, FYCAS helps provide medical care, enrichment, rescue support, and adoption resources for homeless pets in our community. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of shelter animals, promote responsible pet ownership, and work toward a future where every adoptable animal finds a loving home. Together with compassionate supporters, we’re making a lasting difference — one life at a time.
