Friends of the York County Animal Shelter (FYCAS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the lifesaving work of the York County Animal Shelter in York County, South Carolina. Through fundraising, community partnerships, and volunteer engagement, FYCAS helps provide medical care, enrichment, rescue support, and adoption resources for homeless pets in our community. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of shelter animals, promote responsible pet ownership, and work toward a future where every adoptable animal finds a loving home. Together with compassionate supporters, we’re making a lasting difference — one life at a time.

No, FYCAS is a volunteer group working in tandem with The York County Animal Shelter in York, SC to raise money for the shelter and find homes for adoptable dogs.
Shelter Hours
Monday - Friday
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
3rd Saturday of the month-Adoptions by appointment.
Intake Hours
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 11:30am to 3pm
Thursday 12 pm to 5:30 pm
The adoption fee is $77.00. You will need a government issued photo ID and must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
The Adoption Center is located at 713 Justice Blvd, York, SC off Hwy 5, adjacent to the Moss Justice Center.
