"Adopted my beautiful cat, Zo, from here back in September of 2016! The process was so easy and they were extremely helpful! I could tell the volunteers cared about each animal. Zo apparently had worms, and when I called to ask about it they told me to just come in and they gave me some worm medicine for her. She has been the most wonderful cat and I will be forever thankful to this place and to have found her because she is my best friend! I always suggest YCAS when I hear about friends looking to adopt. They're awesome!!!"

"I’m so impressed. The staff was super kind and so gentle with each dog. I just as so emotional because I’m in love with dogs and they let me cry it out with each dog they brought out to me. "We adopted Cesaer about 5 years ago. We had gone to other shelters, and we picked York as the animals seemed very well cared for and healthy. They had rooms where you can spend time getting to know the dog or cat so you can make sure its right fit for you and your family. We had gone in looking for a female kitten and walked out with a full grown male who was and still is very sweet. 5 years later Cesaer is spoiled rotten and still makes us laugh."
